Ruahāpia Marae

Ruahāpia sits inside of what was known as the Karamū Block. This piece of land was set aside by Karatiana Takamoana and his younger brothers in the 1860’s, and sits adjacent to the Heretaunga Block. A wedding dowry given to Pānapa Tuari, his wife Arapera Te Ngaero, and their many children, Ruahāpia marae continues to be a significant place for many of their uri today.
